How Enrollment at Maritime|253 works 

Maritime|253 is not a high school, students remain enrolled at their high school but spend half their day at the skills center. We offer a morning and an afternoon session. Enrollment is open to all high-school students in the South Sound.

Member school districts, which include Tacoma Public Schools, Vashon Island School District, Sumner-Bonney Lake School District, Orting School District, Franklin Pierce School District, Fife Public Schools, Chief Leschi School District and University Place Public Schools, have a guaranteed number of seats. Students from non-member districts will be accepted based on available space, and with a signed shared student agreement from their home district.  

Courses are advanced, and we typically recommend students be in their junior or senior year. Families are asked to complete an enrollment questionnaire to begin the enrollment process, additional forms may be required to finalize enrollment.
