Maritime|253 is committed to partnering with high school counselors and school teams as they help students explore new pathways for their futures.

As a new regional Career and Technical Education (CTE) skills center opening in fall 2026, Maritime|253 will serve students from across the South Sound. Students remain enrolled at their home high school while spending part of their day at Maritime|253, gaining hands-on, career-connected learning in maritime and related industries.

To support counselors and school staff in guiding students through this option, Maritime|253 is hosting a Lunch & Discover event:

• Noon to 1:30 p.m.

During the event, attendees will learn about Maritime|253’s curriculum, class offerings, certifications and credits, as well as how student schedules are structured between their home high school and the skills center. An optional session will also highlight Tacoma Flex and Oakland online class opportunities that may help support student schedules.

Enrollment for the 2026–27 school year is now open, and Maritime|253 looks forward to working alongside counselors and school teams to ensure students have the information and support they need to make confident decisions about their educational pathways.
